I saw a bright comet in the morning between 1966 - 1972. What was it?

This was Comet Bennet, 1969i which was visible to the naked eye as a spectacular morning comet in late April and early May of 1970. It was heavily photographed, and you can see some images in Sky and Telescope magazine, May 1970, page 330, and in June, 1970 page 351. When it reached its peak brilliance on March 24, it was 64 million miles from the Earth near its 51 million mile 'perihelion' distance from the Sun. I took many photos of it with a 35-mm camera when I was a High School student, getting up at 4AM to see it in the north-eastern sky.
