Can the effects of some diseases be reversed or stopped in space?

I think the answer to that is yes. Any disease that can be mitigated by reducing your weight upon bones and tissues would benefit from weightless or low-gravity conditions. The problem is that, for now, we do not know how to stop other degenerative conditions that could follow prolonged weightlessness. For example, bone mass is reduced significantly in long- duration flights. This could exacerbate the same condition you are trying to treat. I do not know all the details. Perhaps you should visit the NASA Home page and visit one of the sites that have to do with Human Space Flight. There ought to be web sites attached to them that deal with these matters. Good luck!
