Sure. For several decades, observers on the Earth have seen what are called 'Lunar Transient Events' which appear as pinpoint bright flashes of light from many different areas on the Moon. Some of these seem to cluster at the center of the crater Aristarchus. For a long time, no one fully understood what was going on until one of the flashes was caught in the act. Evidently, at least this particular flash is in some way associated with the venting of gas from the central peak of the crater Aristarchus. Presumably the other flashes can also be explained the same way.
