Will there be an interesting event involving the Moon and a planet on February 19, 1996?

Yes. Soon after sunset, you will see very close to the western horizon, a slim crescent Moon only 24 hours old from the east cost of the USA, and 27 hours old from the West Coast. Venus and Saturn will be to the upper left not too far away. On February 21, you will see the Moon eclipse ( occult) Venus if you happen to be living in Hawaii. The rest of us will see the Moon get awfully close to Venus!
