


Well....meteorites (like the stony, iron and chondritic ones above l to r) are the stones that you can actually pick up on the ground after they have impacted the Earth.
I think what you mean is, "When can I see the most meteors streaking through the sky?"
First, you have to look at night when their faint trails are most easily seen.
Then you have to look after midnight when the Earth's orbital velocity tends to get added to the velocities of incoming meteors making them travel faster through the atmosphere.
Finally, for the most dramatic show, wait for one of the annual meteor showers. These usually provide about a few meteors per minute or more. For a list of major showers, visit the Sky and Telescope Meteor page for details.
