Was there a total eclipse of the Sun as seen from Atlanta Georgia in the early 1980's?

There was a spectacular 'annular' eclipse on May 30, 1984 which could be seen from southern Lousiana, across Georgia, and on up to southern Delaware. There were no solar eclipses between 1979 - 1983 visible from this same region.
