The question goes on to inquire if I can make sense out of a quote about "...at the head of Aries, Jupiter and Saturn", and that several interpretations claim this occurred on December 13, 1702 and will reoccur in September or December of 1995.
I looked in the U.S Nautical Almanac and I can see that the only unusual configurations listed mention an opposition of Saturn on September 14, and a conjunction of Jupiter with the Sun on December 18. There are no indications of any conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn for this year. In fact, on September 2, 1995 Jupiter and Saturn are near Scorpio and Aquarius respectively, or almost 90 degrees apart in the sky. On December 5, Jupiter moves closer to Sagittarius but the separation is still over 45 degrees.
The last time that Jupiter and Saturn were in conjunction was on January 14, 1981 ( and also February 19 and July 20 because of their retrograde paths). The period between conjunctions is about 20 years so the next conjunction will be in the year 2001 or so. The time difference between January 14, 1981 and December 13, 1702 is about 179 years which is almost divisible by 20, so I would predict that on that date, Jupiter and Saturn may have been rather close together in the sky. A more exact calculation is needed which, alas, I do not have the time for. Sorry!!
