Where can I get on-line code for an ephemeris?

I don't know where on the net you can get such a thing right now but I do know that the U.S Naval Observatory sells software for recreating their entire ephemeris for each year. The program costs about $20.00 and can be ordered from:

Nautical Almanac Office

Code FA

U.S. Naval Observatory

Washington, D.C. 20390-5100.

I would also suggest that you look at back issues of Sky and Telescope magazine because for the last few years they have had a software section where they describe and publish many different kinds of useful astronomical programs in Basic. Software distributors also advertise there. On the internet, I know that there are Freeware areas, but I have never visited them to see if they have anything 'astronomical'. I think, however, that I will look into this matter soon since I would also like to know if such programs exist. If I find anything, I will post the location in an update of this response. You might also try a previous question.
