Can I use lunar daily position information from the USA to predict what I would see from Japan?

The approximate lunar phase and sky position can probably still be used, however, in the roughly 12 hours that separates viewing in the USA from viewing in Japan, the Moon will have moved about 6.5 degrees so any critical viewing such as 'the oldest' or 'newest' lunar phases, will be delayed with respect to what observers in the USA will see. For example, amateur astronomers like to out do each other in who can spot the earliest crescent Moon. If a prediction says that USA observers would have a chance to see a 15-hour old Moon, a japanese observer would see either a '3-hour old moon' which is impossible to see against the solar glare, or a 27-hour old Moon which isn't particularly interesting. You need to get predictions tailored to your location on the Earth for any observations involving critical lunar phases, eclipses, lunar occultations of stars, and so on.
