Yes, if the telescope tube is too flimsy, however, the most likely distortion is simply that the image will shift in the field of view, not that its shape will change. Shape changing only happens if the mirrors ( reflector ) themselves are bent, and that would not happen by simply adding counter weights to the tube to offset the weight of the camera.
