What is meant by the 'Euclidean geometry of space'?

It just means that if you used light rays to define the shortest distances between any two points far apart, that their paths would be identical to the 'straight lines' you drew in high school geometry class, and that if you formed a humongous (sp?) triangle, the sum of the angles would equal exactly 180 degrees.
