The only way I now of is for the universe to have a static spatial extent, and a time axis that curves around and reconnects with itself in a closed, ring-like geometry. I cannot imagine what the dynamics of such a universe might be because the future would have to join up with the past to form a closed curve. This would violate causality...big time! Along the closed time axis, slices that exist at fixed instants would have the same fixed, and finite amount of 3-dimensional space. This is unlike our present universe where slices at constant time since the big bang have steadily increasing scales. Also, our universe seems to have had a fixed origin moment in the past with no continuation into some other time-like domain.
