This is a very vague term, and one that I might even have used, but you can probably use it to describe any star that has arrived on the Main Sequence and is happily burning its abundant hydrogen reserves. This stage is the longest and most stable phase of a star's life, to be followed by 'old age' when its structure changes very rapidly.
