Has a new planet been discovered around the star 16 Cygni B?

Yes. Astronomers just announced the detection of a planet, about 1.5 times the mass of Jupiter, orbiting this G2.5 Main Sequence star which is about 85 light years away. The planet's orbit is very elliptical, with a close approach to the star just inside the orbit of Venus, and a farthest distance just outside the orbit of Mars on the same scale. Living there, you would be roasted in the summer and frozen in the winter.
