Never. To accelerate 1 gram to the speed of light, you would need to 'burn up' all of the stars in the universe. Objects with finite 'rest mass' can never travel at the speed of light, but they can get as close to this limit as you are willing to throw vast amounts of energy at them to accelerate them!
