Is the kind of artificial gravity used in Star Trek ever possible?

It is not feasible at all. The only credible versions of anti-gravity devices are what the Earth ships in Babylon 5 use. You can simulate gravity in a rotating cylinder with your feet magnetically clamped to the floor.
