Could gamma-ray bursts be the traces of interstellar spacecraft?

I suppose that just about anything is possible in this crazy universe of ours, but I would probably place higher bets that they will ultimately be found to be a natural phenomenon. There is no pattern to these bursts, so this would mean that there are a lot of aliens out there who do not know where they are going. There are no traces of 'commerce lanes' or other such artificial artifacts.
