My friend told me they heard about some new planet/solar system called pegasus. Do you have more information about it?

Yes, a planet orbiting this star was detected by Paul Butler and Geoff Marcy at San Francisco State University back in 1996. The above figure shows more recent data for this planet obtained by the APOE Group at Harvard University. The planet orbits the star and causes the star to change its speed through space by a few tens of meters per second. A sensitive spectroscope can detect this Doppler Shift in the spectral lines of elements in the star's atmosphere.
