Are there really 9 planets in our solar system?

Yes there really are only 9 planets in our solar system. Astronomers have over the last 50 years searched for planets beyond the orbit of Pluto, but have not found any more large objects, although many small bodies have been found which are a few dozen miles across. These are not planets, however, and resemble comets.
