What phase will the Moon be in on May 24, 1997?

Doing it the long way, I knew there was a Full Moon on December 7, 1995, at Julian Day 2450058.5, and the Julian Day for May 22, 1997 is 2450590.5, and since the lunar month is 29.53 days long, you can see that a Full Moon happens on Julian Day 2450590.3 which is 0.2 days before May 22, 1997 based on Universal Time. This means if you were in England, the technical time of Full Moon would be at 2.4 hours before Noon on May 22, 1997. From the East Coast of the USA which is 5 hours earlier, Full Moon would occur at 7.4 hours before Noon or 4:36 AM.

You can also check with the US Naval Observatory's Lunar Phase calculator for a much better estimate.
