Is the Sun rotating, or does it always show the same side towards the Earth?

Yes, the Sun does rotate. At its equator it takes 25 days at the equator and 36 days at the poles, because the Sun is a giant ball of gas and not a solid surface. This effect is called 'differential rotation', and even the planet Jupiter shows a similar effect.
