Why do astronauts wear spacesuits during launch, but they don't wear their helmets during reentry?

I haven't a clue. I can speculate that during launch, you have a full charge of fuel in your fuel tanks and for safety a full suit might be better than none in case of an accident ( yeah ...sure!). Upon reentry, there is no fuel and you are essentially coasting to a successful landing, or destiny as a toasted hamburger, and having a spacesuit makes no difference in your survival.
